Sateen 600B Sheet
Sateen sheets differ from typical percale sheets by the way in which they are woven. A Sateen sheet is normally constructed by having 6 threads woven "over" and 1 thread woven "under." Contrast this to a percale weave where the cloth is woven 1 thread over and 1 thread under (like a basket). Weaving a sheet with this 6 over/1 under technique gives the sheet a shine, because light reflects off the threads. Hence a true Sateen sheet achieves its shine by virtue of the weaving. In addition, a Sateen sheet is enhanced in the finishing and dyeing process, so the final product has a brilliant luster. Not to be confused with Satin sheets (made from a petrochemical derivative), our Sateen sheets are made from 100% Egyptian Cotton, 600 thread count, with a hemstitch detail. A Sateen sheet makes an elegant bed ensemble by itself, or can be used to complement our damask sheets. Beiger, Sage, Straw, Taupe
