CONGRATULATIONS TO THE FOLLOWING ATHLETES


April 2007

Twelve athletes traveled to California and competed in the Pamona Pitzer, Azusa and Mt. Sac track meets. Congratulations to the following athletes for achieving life time bests:

Teneisha Peart – 24.53 – 200m
Hafeez Sumani – 48.92 – 400m, 22.51 – 200m
Nigel Joseph – 52.79 – 400 hurdles
Ryan Russell – 1.53.05 – 800m
Women’s 4x100m Relay (Tessa Gray, Sara Louden, Teneisha Peart, Beige Smith) – 47.78
Women’s 4x400m Relay (Tessa Gray, Sara Louden, Teneisha Peart, Beige Smith) – 3.50.59
Men’s 4x400m Relay (David Critendon, Andrew Dargie, David Shanks, Hafeez Sumani) – 3.15.77


March 2007
Teneshia Peart - 3 Golds at the Provincial Indoor Championships - 60, 200, & 4 X 400 relay. Teneshia has been training hard this winter and it shows with personal bests in the 60, 200, 300 and 400
m. All of her times are the first or second best in Alberta.

David Shanks - 1 Gold, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze. His Gold in the 400 metre is by far his best and if he keeps up his training he will have a good chance to make an International Team in 2007.

Jennifer Paul - Competed in an older age category and won 2 Bronze medals. Jen has made outstanding PB's this year in the 600, 800, 1000, and 1500 metre.

Perry Ford - Gold in the 800

Nigel Joseph - Silver in the 400 and lifetime best.

Matt Arok - Silver in the 200 metres

Sara Louden - Silver in the 200
metres. In this indoor season she made PB's in the 60, 200 and 300 metre

Christina Cameron - Silver in the 200 metres and two indoor PB's at the Indoor Provincials

Beige Smith - Silver medals in the 60 and 200. BEIGE IS BACK!!



September 2006

Brad Hove was the second best male for U of C at the Canadian Cross Country Championships in Quebec City.

Congrats to both David Shanks and Brad Hove on their recent weddings!

Results from Senior Nationals in Ottawa:
David Shanks - 8th in the final of the 400 tieing his lifetime best of 48.01
Teneshia Peart - 8th in the final of the 100 metres - Teneshia's first ever Senior Nationals!
Tessa Gray - 8th in the 400h final even after not recovering fully from her late season injury.
Rochelle Dion ran a personal best of 12.41 in the 100 metre heat.

Perri Ford ran two personal bests in the heats and finals in Sherbrooke, Ontario in the 400H to finish 6th in the final.

Andrew Dargie finished 8th in the final at the World Juniors in Bejing. This is an outstanding result which would have been even better if he hadn't drawn lane one in the final!

Aug 9 - 13 Louise Ayototche finds a new PB and claims bronze in the 400m at the African Games.

July 27-30 Sara Louden, Sara Paul, Christina Cameron and Chad Hackett bring home medals from the Alberta Summer Games.
