Purpose of Workshop:
Poetry is a lot like jazz on a paper and screenplays can form out of the process of writing poetry.
--filmmaker, Omonike Akinyemi
Image Quilt will offer a workshop called "Screenwriting for Poets" which focuses on developing a screenplay as you would a poem. We will form scenes based on our stream of consciousnesses and use techniques such as improvisation, sense-memory, and visualization to develop full characters. Writers will produce full length screenplays, short film scripts, or outlines leading to screenplays during the workshop.
The workshop will take place in Albany, New York for six weeks in June 2005. If you are interested, please fill out this informational form and we will get back to you soon regarding the workshop location and schedule.
