How Our Customers Use Shea Butter & Black Soap
on their skin, hair, nails, etc.
For dry skin or hair, only a tiny amount of shea butter is needed, more than that does not soak in. It is the same on drums, where only a dab on the hands before playing the drum is enough, if one plays often.
I am told that the trick with scars and stretch marks is to nourish the skin with shea butter for its whole life, to maximize the restored elasticity of the skin. And I was told that it takes 6 weeks for skin to completely replace. Scars and stretch marks are said to improve, becoming less raised (even flat) and soft but still differently colored. I have not tried it myself.
I use it on my hair after it is completely dry following a hair wash. I use just a dab, just enough to calm the fly-away unmanageability and dryness, and usually not again till after my next hair wash. If yours got gummy, you used way too much. Or apply it heavily before a hair wash, with time to soak in first. Then shampoo out the unabsorbed excess.

Thanks to shea butter, my feet are softer than the feet of most GIRLS; I should point out that I am a 43 year old male! My feet tend to be dry, resulting in ugly white skin and cracks in the heels. Shea butter ELIMINATED this. I regularly pedicure my feet with hot water soaks with epsom salts. I use a pumice stone to keep callouses at bay. But my main secret is shea butter. I apply it every night to my feet and wrap them in plastic wrap, held in place with a pair of socks while I sleep. In the morning, when I take off the socks and the plastic, my feet are so soft that I can almost describe them as "squishy!" What a remarkable product!

I like to shower all over with Black Soap. I lather my hair first, by rubbing a bar of Black Soap on my hands, then use my hands to lather my hair. Or I rub the soap directly on my hair if it is real dirty. After rinsing, the second hair soaping continues over my whole body. Later, after my hair is fully dry, I rub a tiny dab of shea butter into my fingers, then massage it into my hair. It has added body and moisture to my grey thinning hair. And I love having one soap that does both hair and body, and I no longer need to use hair conditioner either.

I've been using it as an all over moisturizer, mainly to help prevent stretch marks, as well as to help soften up my feet. My skin has never looked so good! I've found that a small bit in a warm bath is an excellent way to get it into my skin.
I keep old lip gloss tins handy and have used them to carry a small amount of shea butter in my purse.

"Psoriasis", the non-contagious skin disease, seems to be prevalent this year. There is no cure on the market, only limited symptom relief. Shea butter gives the best symptom relief of any product available. Symptom relief includes elimination of itching, flaking, and redness. Prolonged shea butter applications, two to three times daily seems to curtail spread of disease and in the long run (two months usage) seems to actually eliminate the disease. This is a non-professional / medical opinion but to the sufferers of psoriasis any effective relief is better than none!

I would like to write about how I use shea butter:
When I first used it, the first thing I said was: "there is no such thing as a miracle cure". I promised to use shea butter for one whole year to see what would happen--this after using pure and processed cocoa butter for many many years. I must use greasy moisturisers because my skin is dry and scaly, and I occasionally use creams for ezcema. Most of the "cocoa butter" I have been using has a high water content, so it actually makes my skin problem worse.
After six months, I was shocked to see that all of my keloid or raised scars were flattened--many of them are almost invisible. You can still see the scar, but running your hand over it, you won't feel it at all. Some of these scars were there since childhood/puberty and I had just about given up on them.
I strongly recommend it for people with extremely dry skin that scars easily.
