Have you been feeling like something isn’t quite right in your life? Do you feel like your life is in charge of you, instead of you being in charge of it? Have you been telling yourself that you’ll be happy when something in your life changes? Are you ready to make a change but don’t know where to begin? You’re not the only one! Taking a spiritual journey is a wonderful way to begin to have clarity about yourself and your life.

This will be an active trip, as we will be hiking at altitude in the Purcell Mountains in the Canadian Rockies. (Hiking elevation: between 945 m/3100 ft – 3050 m/10,006 ft). This range of mountains cannot be reached by car as there are no roads. Only by helicopter, which we use each day, can we access these remote areas. The blessing of this trip is the ability to hike in absolute peace and solitude with no other humans around us, giving us the time to reflect deeply on our selves and our lives. We will have at least one day of silence while on this retreat to help quiet our minds and allow us to fully open our hearts to nature and divine creation.

There is something about this land that allows you to rest deeply, slow down and get clarity. We will have the opportunity to stay at some of the loveliest lodges: The Buffalo Mountain Lodge in Banff, Post Lodge at Lake Louise, and Bobbie Burns Lodge. The food is incredible and we even have access to full spa services for our weary bodies. So bring your hiking shoes, a journal and an open heart. Be prepared for the unexpected, as the magic of this land will take you to places you did not think were possible.

As is typical for a Journeys of the Spirit retreat, you will experience class time daily, time for sharing with the group, reflection and meditation time, and one-on-one personal time with your group leader (along with fun and shopping time too of course!). It is our intent that you return home with an open heart and mind along with the tools you need to make the changes in your life you desire. Day 1- (-/-/d) CALGARY We meet at the Calgary Airport and then shuttle to Banff in the Canadian Rockies and overnight at the beautiful Buffalo Mountain Lodge.

Day 2- (-/l/d) BOBBIE BURNS LODGE Today we start our day by taking a fabulous helicopter ride to the Bobbie Burns Lodge. The Bobbie Burns Lodge Lodge sits about 1370 metres high, with 24 rooms with private baths, The lodge has a view-rich outdoor whirlpool, a sauna, games room, porch-side basketball hoops, shop, and a big, welcoming fireplace in its exceptionally homey common area. Its extensive wine cellar is certainly one of the world’s best in a wilderness lodge.
The Bugaboos are a hiker’s nirvana. Three examples of their roster of more than 100 hikes are:
Rollercoaster: Great views to the west on a half-day hike through flowery meadows. This fine hike can be combined with a visit to beautiful Hume Lakes for a robust full-day outing.
Crystalline Pass: Many variations grace this half or full-day hike in varied timberline terrain: everything from meadow strolling to boulder-hopping and some steep ups on glacial moraine. Vigorous elevation gains and losses through different geologic zones.
Anthea’s: A half-day, resoundingly alpine hike along a goat trail up to a high ridge, with great views of the Conrad Glacier, looking down at towering ice needles and into looming crevasses.

Day 3- (b/l/d) BOBBIE BURNS LODGE We leave in the morning to fly to our first hike in these peaceful mountains. The first helicopter leaves at 9:00 (each aircraft seats 11 guests and a guide), making the short but dramatic trip to the timberline. We spend the day roaming and hiking in gorgeous, world-class landscapes. During the course of the day, the helicopter may pick us up and land us in three or four different areas, giving us a chance to experience a variety of settings, from meadows to timberline ridges to glaciers to a particularly scenic picnic spot. At day’s end we fly back to the lodge to indulge in (depending on our mood) a massage, a browse in the lodge shop, a game of chess, a go at the lodge climbing wall, a cocktail on the deck as alpine glow bathes the peaks we’ve been communing with.

Day 4- (b/l/d) BOBBIE BURNS LODGE This morning after breakfast we make our third flight to our next amazing location. We will spend the day in silence, walking in meditation and going deeper within ourselves.

Day 5- (b/l/-) LAKE LOUISE Today we say farewell to Bobbie Burns Lodge and shuttle off from the helipad to the famous Lake Louise for a relaxing and unwinding night at the Post Hotel. The hotel is known for its excellent culinary creations and full spa services. Any last aches in our muscles will be massaged away by experienced hands!

Day 6- (-/-/-) LAKE LOUISE & CALGARY After an wonderful day at the lake and the spa services we leave for Calgary and overnight in the city so we can be ready for our flights in the morning.

Day 7- (-/-/-) CALGARY & HOME We say our last goodbyes, hugs and kisses as we prepare to take our new dream of heaven back to our lives!

This schedule is tentative! Due the remote areas we are traveling to, weather, bad roads and other unseen obstacles may cause us to make changes in the schedule or to visit different sites. We understand that if this happens we were not meant to be where we were going!

Most meals (11) are included in this program. These are noted next to each day on the itinerary and are in parentheses. (3 breakfasts, 4 lunches & 4 dinners are included) Non-included lunches and dinners during your travel may need to be paid for in cash so plan accordingly. Included are one night at the Buffalo Mountain Lodge in Banff, 3 nights at the Bobbie Burns Lodge, one night at the Relaix & Chateaux Post Hotel, Lake Louise, and one night at the Delta Calgary Airport Hotel. All spiritual teachings are included. National Park entrance fees are included. All tips for the drivers, bell boys and heli-hiking guides are included. The use of hiking equipment (boots, insulated jacket, rain poncho, wind pants, day pack and water bottle) are included while we are staying at the Bobbie Burns Lodge. All ground transportation is included on this journey; our helicopters and vans.

Your roundtrip air flight to Calgary is not-included in the cost of the journey. Other non-included items would be souvenir shopping and spa services at the Post Hotel! Tips for maids and are not-included (we suggest you leave $1.00 USD/per day).

The actual schedule of spiritual teachings and what we will be doing day to day is not published. This is because we teach by channeling spirit which comes in the moment. Every day will be a magical experience for all of us, teachers included! Keep your heart and mind open to the experience life brings us.

2008 trip cost is: $3678.00 double occupancy. Single supplement price trip cost is $4427.00 for this journey. These priced are based on the current exchange rate of 1 CAD to 1 USD. The prices may go down by summer of 2008. I will update the prices as we get closer to the departure date.

Early registration is important on this trip. A deposit of $500.00 is prefered by: May 1st, 2008. Final payment is due: June 1st, 2008. Any cancellation made in writing from: May 1st - June 1st will result in a cancellation fee of $200.00. Any cancellation made after: June 1st up to the date of departure will result in total loss of deposit ($500.00). Trip cancellation insurance is recommended to cover such issues. We reserve the right to cancel the trip if it is not meeting the trip minimum.
