REGIMENT MUSEUMS
Regiments have played an important role in military history for hundreds of years. The British have a particularly long history in this regard. The museums dedicated to these regiments tell the story of their part in history and give you a deeper insight into the people of whom the regiments were composed.

The Guard Museum London is located at Wellington Barracks, the HQ for the British Army's 5 Guards Regiments. Because it is located down the street from Buckingham Palace you can not only see the museum, you can also go outside and watch the changing of the guard. The museum traces their history for almost 400 years, gives good insight into the life of a guardsman, includes dioramas and a fabulous assortment of regimental drums.
Queen's Royal Surrey Regiment Museum in the basement of beautiful Clandon House, a National Trust property. See the colours, badges, honors and distinctions as well as the personalities that served the regiment since it's inception in 1661.
The Princess of Wales Royal Regiment Museum in the Keep Yard at historic Dover Castle. A chronologically displayed collection which sets out the long and distinguished service of the 12 regiments now embodied in this regiment. The displays include historic rooms, detailed displays of the battles, and colorful
memorabilia from their historic past.
Military Museums of Winchester, include five outstanding collections of regimental histoy plus centuries of military tradition at Peninsula Barracks. These museums include The Light Infantry Museum, The Gurkha Museum, The King's Royal Hussars Museum, The Royal Hampshire Regiment Museum, and The Royal Green Jackets
Museum. And as a bonus they are all located in one of England's most interesting and beautiful cities with a great history on it's own.
