MARITIME MUSEUMS

Cutty Sark, Greenwich, England, is one of the last surviving tea-clipper ships restored to its former glory on the banks of the River Thames. You can climb on-board and see how life was at sea in the 19th century. HMS Belfast-London, England served throughout the Second World War, playing a leading part in the destruction of the battle cruiser Scharnhorst, and also the Normandy Landings. In service with the Royal Navy until 1965, she was saved for the nation in 1971 as a unique reminder of Britain's naval heritage. She is currently available for touring docked in the River Thames near the Tower Bridge.

HMS Victory, Portsmouth, England - Portsmouth Historic Dockyard is home to the world's greatest historic ships, the Mary Rose, HMS Victory and HMS Warrior (1860). Together on one site, the historic naval dockyard is the world's leading maritime heritage centre. HMS Victory, flagship of Vice Admiral Lord Nelson at the Battle of Trafalgar (21st October 1805) and of Admiral Sir John Jervis at the Battle of Cape St. Vincent (14th February 1797) is the most famous warship in the world. HMS Victory is the only remaining 18th Century warship anywhere in the world and is the oldest serving Royal Navy ship in commission - she remains a fully commissioned ship with her own complement of officers and crew and is the flagship of the Second Sea Lord, Commander in Chief Naval Home Command.
