Contemporary Christian Music
Carmen is a gifted singer and songwriter. She began singing as a child and
graduated her abilities through the church. As she matured in her walk with
the Lord, Carmen's ideas for recording became a vision. Although not fully
understanding this venue, she was obedient to the direction of God.
Over the past several years, Carmen has matured in the natural and the
spiritual. The Lord's call on her life has taken her gift of song and
songwriting to a higher level, which has allowed her to participate in many workshops and seminars. She was especially
blessed when she attended a workshop with Tommy Walker, a world renowned praise and worship leader, in Los Angelas,
CA. She also has a heart for missions. She states, "...my life changed when I went to Lima, Peru on a missions trip with
my church for ten days. It was a culture shock, and a time and place where God ministered to me through the people there."
Having gone through many adversities in life, Carmen is so grateful for it all. In retrospect, she sees how God was moving
to take her to a new dimension in her life. Her songwriting is so versatile; it allows you to cry, laugh, and most of all to
think. Her music and singing captivates audiences with blessings and overwhelms them with words of healing and love.
Carmen is both humbled and honored that God has chosen her to touch the lives of people from
different ethnic, economic and social standings.
A native of Prince Frederick, MD, Carmen resides in Washington, DC with her husband Terrance Calhoun, and children
Tiffany, Aaron, and Dwight. She is a graduate of Calvert Senior High School, in Calvert County, MD, and is a
professional truck driver. She fellowships at Bridgeway Community Church, Columbia, MD. David Anderson is the pastor.
