JOSE TARDIO SANCHEZ
Chronicles to Zion
José was born in Peru, South America to an Afro-native Andean-Spanish and a Jewish grandfather on his mother's side. He
started singing and composing at a young age, mostly for church. He
came to the United States to attend college as a foreign student.
After marrying, having two children, and becoming a U.S. citizen, José
became a career interpreter with the federal government.
It was his
desire to return to Peru to help people in need, so he began by
collecting donations of new soccer clothing and distributing them
through churches in Lima to orphanages and youth. When the opportunity
arose, Jose began taking groups of medical people and musicians to Peru
to provide free medical care, perform surgeries at local hospitals, and
entertain people with inspirational concerts. To find out more, go to this link: Peru Lighthouse. Simultaneously, Jose and his family began
volunteering to help people learn English in the U.S. and provide them
with practical and spiritual hope. Over the years, they have started
programs at different churches and been blessed to have students from
many nations and languages of the world.
During the past 3 years, José
has organized a day of prayer for the peace of Jerusalem:
olivetreeofzion.com. Each May with the support of synagogues and
other groups. José has recorded two CDs (Sus Canciones and Chronicles
to Zion) and is currently working on a third with the collaboration of
various musicians. Previously, he had recorded two songs on the Luz
del Mundo CD—a product of the 2001 Peru trip—and had also recorded with
the group SelahRocks and played with Reggae band I & I Redemption.
José has sung in Mexico, Peru, Israel, and the U.S., and composes songs
with the hope that they will be a blessing to all, and make people
think of the God of Abraham.
