Messianic Jewish Music
Oleg Gitlin is a famous, award-winning balalaika virtuoso who has performed in the most distinguished theatres and concert halls throughout Russia, Europe , America and Israel.
Born in Leningrad in 1951,Gitlin started playing the balalaika and grew fond of it already in his childhood when his parents presented him with the instrument on his birthday. He studied at the Leningrad Conservatoire with the renowned balalaika player Professor A. Shalov.
Oleg Gitlin plays on a unique and exceptionally melodious balalaika, created by a world-famous balalaika-maker.
All the musicians working with Gitlin are struck by his industriousness. Every detail is important for him, each note should be perfectly impressive. The musician is on a constant quest for perfection and he is achieving the needed results.
The acoustic guitar provides a perfect complement to the balaika, and is performed with passion and precision by Genady Shlapobersky from Maalot, Israel.
Each of the songs in the "Your Hand on the Strings of My Heart" album is a medley of two or three selections. The last three songs on the product list are not actually part of the album. They are three delightful classical pieces.
