Messianic Jewish Music
The second album by Hillel Tokazier is the result of a long contemplation. On it you can hear the influences of all the different styles of music he has worked with during his career as a musician. This way, he brings to light the versatility of Jewish music. The background for the songs is Hillel’s own life as a Finnish Jew.
One of the basic things in Jewish music is the song: its lyrics stem from improvised rhymes and the prayer book texts. These texts are still being used, even in modern pop music. The message of the songs is an old tradition and meant for people of all ages. You will hear Klezmer music, Chassidic melodies, Israel inspired songs, synagogue melodies, and new songs.
