(P/2')(FS) Z4-9 This relative of the milkweed produces dried seed pods excellent for arrangements and an abundance of large clusters of bright orange flowers. Also known as 'pleurisy root' this herb is still used by European and American folk medicine as an expectorant and anti-inflammatory. Butterfly weed as the name implies is very attractive to butterflies especially Monarchs. An excellent bee plant as well.
