BAYBERRY - Myrica pensylvanica (SOLD OUT FOR '09)
(P/9')(FS/PS) Z5 Native to the east coast of the U.S., this aromatic shrub was once commonly used in the making of candles. The ripe berries are boiled in water and wax is recovered as it floats to the top. They also produce a blue dye. The root bark is used to make a gargle to sooth sore throats and to treat diarrhea and hemorrhages.
