COSTMARY - Chrysanthemum balsamita
(P/3')(FS/PS) Z4-8 Also known as “Bible leaf’ because the balsam spearmint scented leaf was used as a marker in the Sunday bible where the parishoner could always enjoy the pleasant fragrance if the sermon got slow. It was also called ‘Alecost ‘ for its use in the Middle Ages as a flavoring in preparing ale. Can be used in spring salads, homemade beer, soups, cakes, poultry and teas.
