Headers and Footers
Headers and footers add a natural consistency to your Web site by appearing at the top and bottom of every page.
A header usually includes the name of your storefront. It can also include a byline (like a slogan),
explanatory text, and a logo.
You would be wise to keep the header for your storefront relatively small,
so as to leave an appropriate amount of space for the content of your site.
Name
Use a name that customers will easily recognize and identify with the products you are selling. We recommend that the
store name be three to four words.
Byline
Specify a catch phrase or mission statement for you store. For example, "Providing the best products for the lowest
prices."
Text
You can also add some text to provide general information about your store. For example, "Call 24 hours a day
1-800-123-4567."
Image
If you have a small logo you can upload it to your site. Click the "Pick Image" button and use the
Uploaded File Window.
Layout
You can select different layouts for your header information. Click the
"View Layouts" button to view the header layouts (A new window will open displaying
a number of optional layouts for your header). To select a Header Layout,
scroll down through the window and click the layout of your choice.
Or you can select a Layout by clicking on the "Layout" pull-down menu and
selecting one of the options.
Footer
A footer is a great place for copyright information or any other "fine-print" information that you would like
to appear at the bottom of every page of your site. You can enter in any HTML information.
For example, "Copyright © 2005 MyStore, Inc. All rights reserved."
