Bacon Wrapped Shrimp - Tony, Nebraska
1 lb Large Uncooked Shrimp
1 lb Bacon, strips cut in half
16 oz. Dorothy Lynch Home Style Salad Dressing
8 oz. Good Tequila
Bamboo Skewers
Wrap shrimp with bacon and align on soaked skewer. Mix tequila with Dorothy Lynch and marinade skewers for 1hr. in refrigerator. Grill until bacon is crispy. Enjoy!
Beef and Pork Meat Balls
1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
3/4 lb. ground pork
1 egg
1 cup old fashioned oatmeal
1 cup DOROTHY LYNCH HOME STYLE DRESSING
1 T Worcestershire sauce
1 medium onion, chopped
2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 can tomato soup
1/2 cup catsup
1 T prepared mustard
Combine all ingredients and form into 1-inch balls. Combine tomato soup, catsup, and mustard. Pour half of tomato soup sauce in greased 2-quart, oblong baking dish. Place the meatballs in dish. Spoon the rest of sauce on top of each meatball. Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees F. Serve over rice.
Spice-of-Life Kabobs
1/2 cup apricot preserves
1/2 cup DOROTHY LYNCH HOME STYLE DRESSING
1/4 tsp ground allspice
2 large skinned and boned chicken breasts, cut into
2 x 1/2 inch strips
1 large sweet red or green pepper, cut into 1 inch pieces
8 cherry tomatoes
1 zucchini
For glaze, in a small saucepan stir together apricot preserves, DOROTHY LYNCH HOME STYLE DRESSING and allspice until heated through.
Meanwhile, preheat the broiler. Thread chicken onto 8 skewers, alternately with zucchini and pepper. Brush with glaze mixture. Place skewers on an unheated rack in a broiler pan. Broil 4 inches from heat for 3 to 4 minutes or until lightly browned. Turn and brush with glaze mixture. Broil for 3 to 4 minutes. Put a cherry tomato on the end of each skewer and broil for 1 minute more. Pass sauce. 4 servings.
Dorothy Lynch to the Rescue Chicken - Brian Edelman
3/4-1 cup DORTHY LYNCH HOME STYLE DRESSING
2 chicken breasts cut in half
1 can mandarin oranges
1 can sliced water chestnuts, drained
1/2-1 cup whole wheat flour
1/2-1 tsp poultry seasoning
Bread chicken halves with whole wheat flour and poultry seasoning &8212; shake off excess flour. Use DOROTHY LYNCH HOME STYLE DRESSING in a dutch oven or fry pan instead of oil to brown chicken breasts (3-4 min. on each side or until golden brown). Add mandarin oranges and juice and water chestnuts. Reduce heat and simmer 20 min. or until chicken is cooked thoroughly. Serve over rice or pasta with a garden salad garnished with mandarin oranges and topped with DOROTHY LYNCH HOME STYLE DRESSING.
Broccoli Casserole
2 10 oz. pkgs. of frozen chopped broccoli
1 cup mayonnaise
1 10 1/2 oz. can cream of mushroom soup
1 egg, beaten
1/4 cup DOROTHY LYNCH HOME STYLE DRESSING
1/2 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese
3/4 cup Ritz cracker crumbs
Butter or margarine
Put frozen broccoli into a small amount of water and bring to a boil. Turn off heat and let sit covered while preparing the rest of the dish. Combine the rest of the ingredients, except crumbs and butter or margarine. Drain the broccoli well and add to mixture, folding in lightly. Put into a casserole dish that is greased and then top with the cracker crumbs and dot with butter or margarine. Bake at 350 degrees F for 45 minutes.
Dorothy Lynch Dip
1 8 oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened
1/3 cup DOROTHY LYNCH HOME STYLE DRESSING
1/4 cup milk
2 T minced onion
Blend ingredients with electric mixer until smooth. Serve with raw vegetables, chips or crackers.
Pot Roast a la Dorothy
3 lb. pot roast
1 onion, peeled and sliced thin
1 small can mushrooms, undrained
1 cup DOROTHY LYNCH HOME STYLE DRESSING
1 can cheddar cheese soup
1/2 cup white wine (optional)
Place pot roast in roasting pan. Spread onions over roast. Mix remaining ingredients together and pour over roast, cover with lid and bake at 300 degrees F for 3 to 4 hours. Slice and serve with remaining sauce.
Hawaiian Ginger Carrots
1 lb. carrots, sliced OR 1 pkg. (16 oz.) frozen, sliced
1 can (15 oz.) pineapple tidbits or chunks in fruit juice, drained, reserving juice
1/2 cup DOROTHY LYNCH HOME STYLE DRESSING
1/4 tsp ginger
1 T butter
Place sliced carrots in saucepan. Combine 1/2 cup reserved pineapple juice with dressing, ginger, and butter. Pour over carrots. Cover and heat until boiling. Reduce heat and simmer. Just before serving, stir in pineapple. 4 servings.
Shrimp Spread
1 8 oz. pkg. cream cheese
3 T DOROTHY LYNCH HOME STYLE DRESSING
1 T prepared mustard
Dash garlic
1/4 cup celery, finely chopped
1 onion, finely chopped
1 cup deveined broken shrimp
Soften cream cheese and mix remaining ingredients in order given. Chill and use as a spread for crackers or party bread.
Mild Avocado Dip
8 oz. soft cream cheese
1 avocado, mashed
2 T DOROTHY LYNCH HOME STYLE DRESSING
Few drops of lemon juice
Hint: best served with jalapeno corn chips and/or crackers.
Waldorf Salad
4 medium apples
1 T lemon juice
1/2 cup chopped celery
1/2 cup halved seedless green grapes
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/4 cup raisins
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup DOROTHY LYNCH HOME STYLE DRESSING
1/2 t lemon juice
1/2 cup whipping cream
Ground nutmeg
Core and dice apples to make about 4 cups. In a large bowl, sprinkle apples with 1 T lemon juice. Combine with celery, grapes, walnuts and raisins.
In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise and DOROTHY LYNCH HOME STYLE DRESSING with 1/2 tsp lemon juice. In another bowl, whip cream until small peaks form. Combine with mayonnaise mixture. Spoon over fruit and sprinkle lightly with nutmeg. Cover and chill. Before serving, mix ingredients thoroughly. Serves 8-10.
Double Deviled Eggs
6 eggs, hard boiled
1/3 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 T DOROTHY LYNCH HOME STYLE DRESSING
6 green olives, sliced
Shell eggs, slicing them in half. Remove yolks and place in bowl, whipping with cheese and dressing. Fill center of eggs with yolk mixture. Place olive slice on each egg. Cover and chill.
Baked Beans
4 slices bacon
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 cup chopped green pepper
2 cans (31 oz. each) pork and beans, drained
1/2 cup DOROTHY LYNCH HOME STYLE DRESSING
1/2 cup barbecue sauce
Fry bacon until crisp. Remove bacon, leaving drippings. Fry onion and garlic in bacon drippings until onion is tender and transparent. Remove onion and garlic with slotted spoon, leaving drippings. Crumble bacon. Place beans in 2-quart casserole; add bacon, onion, garlic and all remaining ingredients. Stir to blend well. Cover and bake at 350 degrees F for 45 minutes. Remove cover during last 10 minutes, if less liquid is desired. 10 servings.
Sweet and Tangy BBQ Sausage - Melanie Mueller
1 Smoked Sausage Link
1 1/2 Green Bell Peppers
1 medium Onion
1/2 Cup Dorothy Lynch Dressing
1/2 Cup your favorite BBQ sauce
Slice the Sausage into 1/4" thick medallions Slice the peppers and onions into manageable lengths. Saute' the sausage in a large skillet, then add the peppers and onions. Let them cook 3-4 minutes. Then add the Dorothy Lynch and the BBQ sauce, cover and simmer for 5-8 minutes. Stir occasionally. Serve over rice.
