Tank Cleaning Process Overview

Each tank cleaning project has it's own unique conditions. We will work with you to determine the specific process and products that are applicable to your situation. We can help create an individual proposal for each tank based on the type of tank, service of the tank and quantity of product in the tank on the day of inception. These are some general guidelines for a large tank cleaning project using our products. The following work is to be accomplished once the tank is stripped, blinded and readied for cleaning per all applicable safety and regulatory instructions.

1) Set-up and test circulation pumps

2) Set up stage pump for skimming oil or other hydrocarbon products readily available prior to cleaning

3) Activate the circ pumps and add the recommended amounts of tank cleaning solutions

4) Within 24 hours, begin skimming newly recoverable product made available through the effects of circulating the cleaning solutions

5) Reverse the suction line and the return line to achieve better circulation by pulling off the top and returning at the lowest liquid level

6) After product recovery is complete, add Alabaster Booster and specialized microbes to the tank mixed in approximately 400-500 gallons of water. Resume circ pump operation.

7) Continue circulating the tank contents with the remediating microbial solution for a period of time TBD.

8) Evacuate the remaining liquids and solids which are now de-oiled and able to be disposed of as secondary oil-bearing product. Additonally, the bio-enriched water may be useable by sending it to another slop or process tank thereby aiding in the reduction of oils bound up in those sludge products.
