Accidental Spills are a fact of life!

Spills can be minor time consuming maintenance or major safety and environmental problems. Fuel pumping areas, storage areas, equipment areas and maintenance bays require frequent cleaning! Accidental fuel or oil spills on land, in a marina or a public waterway can result in significant fines and cleanup costs. Alabaster Oil Spill Products were developed to attack spills, quickly turning hydrocarbons and other organic wastes into safer byproducts or, in the case of water spills, rapidly dispersing them into the water column. Our products are:

• Petro-Clean Emergency Response Solution®
• Sea-BRAT Commercial Dispersant®
• Microbial Commercial Cleaner

Petro-Clean Emergency Response Solution®
Applied to any hydrocarbon spill on land, our Petro-Clean Emergency Response Solution® will break up the spill on contact and render the spill so that it is non-flammable, eliminates volatile vapors, reduces odors, and will leave no slippery residue when washed down. Petro-Clean® Emergency Response Solution applied to gasoline, diesel and other volatile hydrocarbon spills takes care of your safety and environmental issues immediately. Petro-Clean® cleans and degrades crude oils, fuels, creosote, PCP, chlorinated hydrocarbons, gasoline, diesel, jet fuels, fats, grease, ethylene glycol, PNA, phenols, BTEX, sulphur containing compounds, solvents, amines, and other complex organic chemicals.

Petro-Clean’s special combination of ingredients works as follows: First, the volatility of the hydrocarbon is suppressed which retards the ability of the hydrocarbon to ignite. Second, once sprayed on a spill and water is added, the hydrocarbons are emulsified and encapsulated into small droplets. This action not only significantly increases the surface area of the hydrocarbon, but as more water is added, the hydrocarbon droplets are separated. The microbes and nutrients in the solution attach to the droplets and immediately begin to digest the hydrocarbons into carbon dioxide, water and cell material. The end result is a product that renders a hydrocarbon spill safer for clean up crews and prepares the hydrocarbon for further remediation into harmless, non-hazardous byproducts.

Petro-Clean is on the U.S. EPA National Contingency Plan (NCP)* as a surface-washing agent and on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's NCP Product Schedule. It is also listed with the U.S. Dept. of Defense and NASA.

Usage Guidelines
We offer Petro-Clean® in ready-to-use forms (1 Gallon Truckers Special or a 4-pack of 1 gallon jugs) that are pre-diluted. It is also available in a concentrated form that is undiluted. If you choose to order the concentrate, here are some dilution guidelines you will need to know:

- For Emergency Spill Response on a hard surface such as concrete or asphalt, dilute the Petro-Clean® with a solution of six percent (6%) Petro-Clean® with ninety-four percent (94%) water. For responding to spills on a permeable surface such as soil, use a dilution ratio of ten percent (10%) Petro-Clean® with ninety percent (90%) water.

- For heavy duty cleaning of hydrocarbon contamination, dilute Petro-Clean® by mixing twenty percent (20%) of Petro-Clean® with eighty percent (80%) of water.

- For remediating surface stains, mix twenty percent (20%) of Petro-Clean® with eighty percent (80%) of water. Spray this mixture over the stain, brush with a broom and allow to set for approx. one (1) hour. Rinse with a pressure hose. If utilized on a regular basis, this treatment will continue to lighten and brighten stained concrete as well as clean asphalt surfaces. After using this treatment for one year a large chain of truck stops was able to double the dilution ratio and decrease normal application times by fifty percent (50%). This system is still in continuous use after over five years.

Sea-BRAT Commercial Dispersant®
Applied to an oil or fuel spill on water, Sea-BRAT Commercial Dispersant®, will promote the surface spreading of oil slicks and rapidly disperse the oil into the water column. Of special interest to boat owners - this product can be very valuable in providing an immediate response capability to small fuel and oil spills from boats.

Sea-BRAT Commercial Dispersant® is newly listed on the U.S. EPA National Contingency Plan (NCP)* as a dispersant and on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's NCP Product Schedule.

Sea-BRAT Commercial Dispersant®:
• Biodegradable
• Non-flammable
• Environmentally friendly, non-toxic and non-pathogenic.
• Saves time and costs.
• Compatible with common delivery systems and equipment.
• Will not harm equipment.
• Has an indefinite shelf life when stored properly between 35 and 120 degrees F

product on an oil discharge. This listing means only that data have been submitted to EPA as required by subpart J of the National Contingency Plan, Sec. 300.915.

Usage Guidelines
We offer Sea-BRAT® in a ready-to-use form in a variety of sizes from 1 gallon jugs to 55 gallon drums.

To use Sea-BRAT®, simply pour the solution into a spray bottle or a higher pressure delivery system if treating a larger area. Spray the most heavily affected areas directly and then broadcast the product over any remaining rainbows. Always apply in compliance with federal, state, and local laws.

Microbial Commercial Cleaner
For non-emergency oil spill cleanup under contained conditions, Alabaster also offers a Microbial Commercial Cleaner (BCC#1) that is formulated for heavy duty cleaning of contaminated surfaces of concrete, asphalt, soil, gravel or for cleaning and degreasing of heavy equipment. It is designed for use with our microbe blends and when so applied will clean and bioremediate the hydrocarbons in place. Alabaster’s Strain A microbe blend is formulated to breakdown natural petroleum products such as gasoline, diesel, motor oils, hydraulic oils, crude oils, sour crudes and other complex hydrocarbons and organic chemicals. Alabaster quality control ensures our customers of plenty of viable microbes in a quality product that will ensure bioremediation of organic and hydrocarbon contaminants. Alabaster offers other specialized blends of microbes for cleaning and remediating other types of hydrocarbon spills such as refinery waste products, PCP, creosote and activated sludge, for example. See our products page for our entire list of microbe blends.

Microbial Commercial Cleaner (BCC#1):
• Biodegradable
• Non-flammable
• Non-toxic
• Non-pathogenic
• Compatible with common delivery systems and equipment.

Usage Guidelines
Typical BCC#1 Dilution ratio’s (Product:Water)
Concrete and asphalt 1:15
Degreasing 1:5
Soil and gravel Determined by TPH per cubic yard

For soil, mix solution of BCC#1 and water into soil by raking or tilling, keeping the soil moist thereafter. The dilution ratio will vary based upon the total PPM of hydrocarbon (TPH) per cubic yard. For FREE directions on what dilution ratio and quantities of product will be necessary, Contact Us. Be prepared to provide info on the TPH of your contaminated soil and an estimate of total volume that needs to be treated.

Microbes:
For situations in which remediation of the spilled contaminants is desired, select the appropriate microbe strains for the type of hydrocarbon contaminants to be remediated. As mentioned above, the microbe strains available are listed on the product ordering page. For spills of crude oil, gasoline, motor oil, hydraulic fluids and other petroleum-based contaminants, Strain A is the optimum choice. Other strains are labeled for the contaminants they are adapted to breakdown.

Usage Guidelines
The amount of microbe material added can be estimated by using the ratio of 20 grams of microbes per gallon of BCC#1. Note this is 20 grams per gallon of undiluted BCC#1, not per gallon of BCC#1/water solution. Regarding cold weather applications using the Z strain microbes; these microbes should be blended with the contaminant-specific microbes in a ratio of 30% Z strain and 70% other strain(s).
