On rarer occasions, sometimes mother natures gives us a spanking and lets us not forget who's the boss of the outdoors. Hopefully everyone comes through without a scratch but maybe the gear was not so lucky. That straight-line gust of wind that took down a tall pine just 50 yards away also flattened the tent on its way through. After the CEMA* field agent(*Campground Emergency Management Agency) surveys the damage, the report includes two snapped tent poles; one protruding through side of tent.
But all is not lost if we can get ahold of a few tent replacement poles, a shock cord repair kit, and a nylon tent repair kit.
After a few measurments of lengths and diameters, we have the tent repair kits ordered and on the way to patch up the bruises left by the three headed storm named Hurricane Sumgustuvwind. And for good measure, we'll spray on a good coating of tent seam sealer/waterproofing spray. After all is said and done, the camping log book entry reads, "Survived Sumgustuvwind, May 32nd, 2525 with minor damage to tent, (repair parts from PACKNcamp)."
