SleepySoft Baby Sheepskin Care Kit

Help keep your SleepySoft baby sheepskin lasting longer!

Protect your investment
$15.97

How do you make a supersoft, luxurious, all natural baby sheepskin last longer, fluff up higher and just plain stay SleepySoft™ forever?

You wash it with a specialy formulated shampoo, and then gently comb it out with this lightweight thin wire bristle sheepskin comb!

How to clean your sheepskin:

Dry Messes: When used in car seats and strollers, baby sheepskins accumulate cookie crumbs and other dry messes. You should periodically shake out, vacuum and comb out your dry sheepskin.

For major wet accidents, you can either take it to the dry cleaner, or machine wash with Sheepskin Cleaner. If you machine wash, you should use gentle cycle and then air dry. If you don't want to purchase our special Sheepskin Shampoo, use any good quality perfume & dye free detergent, or whatever you normally use for baby's clothes.

Remember , sheepskins are leather on one side and hair on the other, you are actually caring for 2 different natural materials. When you wash leather it may stiffen up when dry. You will need to hand work the leather; a rolling pin on the ironing board works well also. In extreme cases a little baseball glove oil works as well (Only apply to the leather side obviously, we are NOT responsible if you pour it in the hair!!!) Oh yeah, the lambskin rugs shrink when you clean them in the washer the first time....that is normal so expect it. When dry simply comb out with the SleepySoft lambskin comb.

Finally for spot stains, a little shampoo in warm water will do the trick, just make sure you rinse out what you put in, and like any other animal hair, a hairdryer set on low heat will speed up the process of drying.

PS: A note from the owner of SleepySoft.com: When we got our first sheepskin 23 years ago, as a working Mom I didn't have time to fuss with the proper care of the sheepskin; every so often I just threw it in the wash with baby's clothes and then threw it in the dryer on a normal (heated) dry cycle. It took about three years to fall apart. At the end my toddler would wander around the house with his thumb in his mouth holding onto a 3"x 5" scrap. As he got older he gave up both, and settled into a real bed with a teddybear.
