Christmas Falls on Thursday this year, and as noted below we use US Priority Mail, which is usually a two to three day method for most of the country. (We ship from the Fayetteville, NY Post Office) - It will be a ten business day service for our International Customers.
Our guess is that Friday December 19th will be the about the last safe day to order for Christmas Deliveries.
And although we are only about a half a mile from the village Post Office, this is extreme snow country up here in Fayetteville; we do not guarantee that the Postal Service will get your package out of their facilities if we get a blizzard!

A Message about toy safety...
|
As retailers in the toy industry, and as parents, neighbors and friends, The Laudin Family and SleepySoft.com want to assure you that the products we offer are safe. We do not currently, nor have we in the past, ever had any of our products recalled.
So what kind of safety tests do our manufacturers have to do?
Small parts are subjected to the choke test, Polyester fill is tested for flammability, Plastic pellets are contained in beanbag inserts etc.Eyes, buttons and other 'attachments' are tested for pull strength, and are safety set (GUND is particularly famous for their safe-set eyes) Strings and ribbons are kept short, generally less than 11" long.non-phthalate vinyl requirements have caused doll makers to "cleanse" their molds and change to safer vinyl mixtures.
All of our products come to us certified for age safety. And we are careful to write these age recommendations into our copy. Unless specifically marked differently, you should assume the doll is meant for three or older.
Of course there are things that you as a parent can do as well. For instance children who are older than three, but still putting items in their mouths should be still using the three year old age safety rules.
Another example: There's the old wives tale that we grew up with that says that the tube of cardboard that comes inside toilet paper is roughly the same size as a baby's throat. If you can place the toy inside a toilet paper tube, don't let the child play with it unsupervised. (the actual measurement used by the Consumer Product Safety is 1 1/4") And of course, if you have more than one child, make sure that a toy your four year old plays with is not left where your two year old can get it.
But mostly, child safety is just plain common sense. You put medicines out of reach, you put covers on the plugs, you lock up the cleaning chemicals with safety latches... be aware of what you give your children to play with... read the tags, look the toys over every few days; and best of all... get down on the floor and play with your child!!

Question: What do you mean by your statement: 10% of profits are donated to charity?
Answer: We donate 10% of all profits from all operations of The Happy Artist LLC. This includes our online sites SleepySoft.com, MyAdoptedChild.com®, PattycakeDoll.com and BooksAndDolls.com. The 10% figure is determined by our accountants when they prepare our corporate taxes.*
Question: Who decides which charities you give to?
Answer: We do! Obviously there are thousands of deserving organizations, and we realized years ago that we couldn't help everyone. Since the majority of our products are geared to children and their parents, The Happy Artist LLC charity gifting is generally, though not exclusively, geared to organizations that also concentrate on children.
*Please note: The Happy Artist Companies charitable donation policy includes only those products crafted or designed by our own craftspeople or sold on our sites. Charitable gifting is not a requirement for our affiliates, suppliers or linking partners!
What is your warranty?
Answer: Unconditional...no if's and's or buts. If you buy it from us; you can return it to us. The only exception is that after 30 days (a fiscal month) we will not refund the 10% that we will have already given to charity. Also although we don't charge a re-stocking fee for the merchandise, we do not refund our shipping and handling costs, since they were already incurred and paid by us.

Fayetteville N.Y. is a beautiful little village, but large enough at 4000 residents to have it's own US Post Office. That allows us to ship 6 days a week, and we ship all of your packages by US Postal Priority Mail. Early on we asked our customers if they would rather wait two or three weeks via Parcel Post, or pay $5 more for Priority Mail. The answers were overwhelming... faster is better. That means that everyone can expect their package in 3-5 days depending on how far you are from our part of the country.
Also, we pack and ship orders pretty much on a first come first serve basis, but because some people do forget a birthday or have another 'emergency' need, we offer to "hustle" your order out the door for a couple of bucks extra. This gives you the option to get your box shipped within one business day.
We live in England and the UK / Canada / Europe, can we order dolls from you?
Sure! Our process is a little different, but we can help those of you outside the United States. (APO, AFO, please use these instructions as well.)
Please email us your complete list of dolls wanted, and your complete shipping address. We will box up your package, take it to our village Post Office to get the accurate shipping charges, and then send you a PayPal invoice (converts your funds to dollars.) We do caution however, that Global Express Postage runs about $18 dollars on our average order to Canada, $25+ to the UK and Europe. You do not have to be a current PayPal member to pay the invoice. And of course it seems silly to us to pay $20 in postage for a $15 doll, but we also understand that you are facing the exact same problems that our US customers have: local stores don't carry ethnic dolls.
For each visitor to our Web page, our Web server automatically recognizes no information regarding the domain or e-mail address. We collect the e-mail address of those who communicate with us via e-mail, aggregate information on what pages consumers access or visit, user specific information on what pages consumers access or visit and information volunteered by the consumer, such as survey information and/or site registrations.
The information we collect is used for internal review and is then discarded, used to improve the content of our Web page, used to customize the content and/or layout of our page for individual consumer and used by us to contact consumers for marketing purposes.
If you do not want to receive e-mail from us in the future, please let us know by sending an e-mail, calling or writing, and telling us that you do not want to receive e-mail from our company.
