The Happy Artist LLC is a family run company located in the small village of Fayetteville NY, in the snow belt of Upstate New York. {2008-2009 season over 12 ˝ feet and counting! } The Happy Artist LLC is the parent company for this site, The Pattycake Doll Company, as well as: BooksAndDolls.com where we offer collectible dolls based on children's books, movies and TV, SleepySoft.com where we offer baby's sheepskins and other baby sleep aids, and dolls for adopted children -- and MyAdoptedChild.com where we have our adoption announcements & adoption shower invitations and gifts. We have been in operation in one form or another since 1978.

How Big Is My Doll?
All Dolls look the same size on the internet! So what size is your doll? We put the sizes on the descriptions and features pages for each doll.

Your credit card transactions are also secure, as we use Authorize.net. When you type in your credit card information and submit your order, the information is transmitted not stored
As soon as Authorize.net approves your credit card for the order they notify us by e-mail and clear the information. We never see or store your credit card number, so it's impossible for the bad guys to get it from us...we don't have it!
In the event of a return for refund, The Happy Artist therefore pays with a corporate check, unless the customer specifically requests a credit card chargeback and communicates their credit card information to The Happy Artist LLC for that purpose.

Question: What do you mean by your statement: 10% of profits are donated to charity?
Answer: We donate 10% of all profits from all operations of The Happy Artist LLC. This includes our online sites SleepySoft.com, MyAdoptedChild.com®, Pattycakedoll.com and BooksAndDolls.com. The 10% figure is determined by our accountants when they prepare our corporate taxes.*
Question: Who decides which charities you give to?
Answer: We do! Obviously there are thousands of deserving organizations, and we realized years ago that we couldn't help everyone. Since the majority of our products are geared to children and their parents, The Happy Artist LLC charity gifting is generally, though not exclusively, geared to organizations that also concentrate on children. The primary beneficiary of our gifting is the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
*Please note: The Happy Artist Companies charitable donation policy includes only those products crafted or designed by our own craftspeople or sold on our sites. Charitable gifting is not a requirement for our affiliates, suppliers or linking partners!
What is your warranty?
Answer: Unconditional...no if's and's or buts. If you buy it from us; you can return it to us. The only exception is that after 30 days (a fiscal month) we will not refund the 10% that we will have already given to charity. Also although we don't charge a re-stocking fee, for the merchandise, we do not refund our shipping and handling costs, since they were already incurred and paid by us.

Fayetteville N.Y. is a beautiful little village, but large enough at 4000 residents to have it's own US Post Office. That allows us to ship 6 days a week, and we ship all of your packages by US Postal Priority Mail. Early on we asked our customers if they would rather wait two or three weeks via Parcel Post, or pay $5 more for Priority Mail. The answers were overwhelming... faster is better. That means that everyone can expect their package in 3-5 days depending on how far you are from our part of the country. And, although we are not able to auto-magically send you a tracking number, these prices include at no extra charge, a delivery confirmation number.
Please note: We pack and ship orders pretty much on a first come first serve basis, but because some people do forget a birthday or have another 'emergency' need, we also offer our "Hustle Service." For a few dollars extra, we will pick and pack your order and take it to the Post Office on the next business day, saving you a day or two of processing time in our warehouse.

PS: Although the US Post Office has raised prices three times in five years, so far we have absorbed those costs for you and not raised our shipping. We still ship by Priority Mail and with Delivery Confirmation. (And ***knock wood), the US Post Office has never lost one of our thousands of packages!
We live in England and the UK / Canada / Europe, can we order dolls from you?
Sure! Our process is a little different, but we can help those of you outside the United States. (APO, AFO, please use these instructions as well.)
Please email us your complete list of dolls wanted, and your complete shipping address. We will box up your package, take it to our village Post Office to get the accurate shipping charges, and then send you a PayPal invoice (converts your funds to dollars.) We do caution however, that Global Express Postage runs about $18 dollars on our average order to Canada, $25+ to the UK and Europe. You do not have to be a current PayPal member to pay the invoice. And of course it seems silly to us to pay $20 in postage for a $15 doll, but we also understand that you are facing the exact same problems that our US customers have: local stores don't carry ethnic dolls.

An open letter to our customers

It seems as we move further into the 21st century, that it becomes harder and harder to stay 'politically correct.' We receive a great many emails each week from our customers, the overwhelming majority of which are heartfelt thanks from parents who have found a doll in this site that meets their needs... a doll that they could not find anywhere else.
Very rarely, we get a complaint. The doll is not "Asian" enough. The skin color doesn't match. The description is 'demeaning,' 'ignorant' or both! People 'will be,' or already are 'offended' by our copy, our descriptions etc.
Do you know why we use the words we use to describe our dolls? Because these are the words that the search engines use to find our pages out of the billions of pages on the internet. If we become politically correct to appease the 1 in a 1000, the search engines don't find us and we go out of business.
We have never received a doll back, in all our years of business, with our 100% satisfaction guarantee, from a child; nor have we received one back from a parent with the reason being "my child didn't like your doll." Never! You see, children love dolls unconditionally. It's the adults who quibble.
For each visitor to our Web page, our Web server automatically recognizes no information regarding the domain or e-mail address. We collect the e-mail address of those who communicate with us via e-mail, aggregate information on what pages consumers access or visit, user specific information on what pages consumers access or visit and information volunteered by the consumer, such as survey information and/or site registrations.
The information we collect is used for internal review and is then discarded, used to improve the content of our Web page, used to customize the content and/or layout of our page for individual consumer and used by us to contact consumers for marketing purposes.
