Vintage Tin Toy State Police Car 1940 Cortland
Cortland Toy. Co.
Here is a Vintage Tin Toy State Police Car from the 1940's-1950's. This is not a friction toy. It has wooden wheels, all four tires, but one doesn't appear to be a match. Rolls easily. All made of tin. There is writing on the bottom which I can't read the first part but looks like "Cortland" (the "o" and "r" is not legible) Toy Co., Phil., PA, Made in USA". Back of car says: "State Chief Police, C7500, NJ". Says: "State Police" on each side of hood and has a large letter "C" on top of front bumper and front license plate no. "C7500, NJ". Does has surface rust, but the lithos are all visable, you can see the driver and passenger and the other graphics. Has a small dent in top of car also. This car measures 7 1/4" long by 3" wide by 2 1/2" tall.
