Pet Tooth Brush Tips for using PetsToothBrush
Stop fighting with your pet by forcing foreign toothbrushes and objects into their mouth. PetsToothBrush is more natural and less agitating than any other alternative. Pets love the gentle motion of human touch. They will enjoy gum massaging by touch while cleaning their teeth…but not necessarily the first time you do it! Use these tips as a way to accustom your pet to what should be an enjoyable experience:

1. Keep the first sessions short, positive and pleasant.

2. Don’t feel as if you have to use toothpaste to start (and never use toothpaste intended for people, as it can upset a pet’s stomach).

3. Dip the bristles of the PetsToothBrush into a flavor that your pet already enjoys.

4. Let them start by taking a few licks of the bristles.

5. Using a positive tone, reinforce your pet’s behavior as they lick.

6. After a few seconds, slide your index finger into the mouth and along the teeth. Rub a single section of teeth once or twice and reinforce your pet’s behavior once again in a positive tone.

7. Two or three strokes in a single section are sufficient for the first few attempts. Base the amount of brushing in the beginning on your pet’s acceptance level. When your pet is comfortable with one finger, begin using the thumb as well.

8. Remember, your goal is to establish a behavior that will be important for the rest of your pet’s life. If may take your pet a week or two to become comfortable with the routine, but the long term effects will be more than worth the effort.

9. When your pet recognizes that brushing is a positive experience, slowly start to add your favorite pet toothpaste on the bristles.

10. In summary, take it slowly and make it positive!
