TOP "the TOP of the line" for the handspinner, results from a process that begins by scouring the raw wool, then putting it through picking, carding and then “combing”. The resulting TOP has nearly all of the fibers orientated in the same direction. In making TOP all of the short fibers and any remaining vegetable matter are completely removed. This process can reduce yield by up to 60%, however, we feel it produces a spinning product best suited to our fine MERINO fiber.
