With the purchase of this sentry floor safes you have taken an important step toward protecting your valuables. These instructions present six methods of installation.
Your selection of an installation method is as important as your initial decision to purchase a sentry floor safe. Let us explain. Because every home or office differs in design, construction and location,there is no one “correct” method for installing your sentry floor safe. How you decide to install your in floor safes is just as important as your initial purchase decision. Keep in mind that the ability of any protective device to deter theft is a function of time. Business Locations:
If police or security personnel routinely patrol the area around your business, install the safe where an officer can see it. This location should be properly illuminated to eliminate the privacy that thieves require. Be sure to inform local law enforcement officials of the safe's location, and your normal office hours. If your business is located in an area not patrolled by police, read
the recommendations for home installations.

Home floor safes locations:
The best location for a home underfloor safes is a remote area with the least amount of traffic. A remote corner of the basement or under the cellar stairs is often an ideal location.
For an extra measure of security, we recommend you conceal the in floor safe under a rug or with a piece of furniture.

Hardware will protrude from the floor. Be careful to choose a spot where the blunt end of a screw can protrude from the floor without tripping or hurting anyone.

Before drilling, check below the floor for hazards. Look for any electrical, telephone, plumbing, heating or other wires, lines, cables or ducts. Avoid drilling near these.
Drilling through these can result in death or personal injury
from electrical shock, gas leak or hot water rupture, as well as damage to property.
To Install IN Concrete Floor
Tools and Materials Needed
• pencil and ruler • hammer or sledge • mason's or cold chisel • knife or scissors
• ready-mix concrete or mortar • mixing pan and trowel • water • metal or wood shims
• safety glasses • gloves • plastic bag
Instructions
1. Locate sentry floor safes in a location free of surface water.
2. Remove lid and home floor safes door, following unlocking instructions on the combination card.
3. Pencil a 16-inch square area on the floor.
4. Chip out the concrete with a heavy hammer and mason's chisel.
5. Dig the hole about so that the lid will be flush with the floor.

To Install ON Concrete Floor
Tools and Materials Needed:
• pencil and ruler • electric drill with 1⁄ 2" masonry bit • hammer • wrench
• (3) 1⁄4" lag screws with masonry anchors • (4) pieces of 3 ⁄ 8" plywood
#10 nails • ready-mix concrete or mortar • mixing pan and trowel • water • weights
• safety glasses • gloves
Instructions
1. Remove lid, sentry in floor safes door and plastic plugs in home in-floor safes base.
2. Mark location of screw holes in floor through the safe’s base, then remove safe from floor marks.
3. Drill three 1⁄ 2" holes and install masonry anchors.
4. Align safe holes with floor holes.
5. Place safe in enclosed moisture-proof plastic bag.
6. Place 1⁄4" lag screws through base holes and tighten into anchors.
7. Build a wooden form around the safe, each side 15" x 16". Place at least 50 lbs. of weight against each outside wall.
8. Pour concrete around the home floor safes until level with safe top.
9. Let concrete cure for at least 24 hours.
10. Remove weight and disassemble wooden frame.
11. Replace fireproof combination safe door and waterproof lid.

To Install on Wood Floor using bolts, nuts and washers
(Avoid floor joists with this installation.)
Tools and Materials Needed • pencil and ruler • electric drill with 5 ⁄16" wood bit
• wrench • (3) 1⁄4" bolts with nuts and 5 ⁄_____16" washers • safety glasses
Instructions
1. Remove lid, door and (3) plastic plugs in safe’s base.
2. Mark location of bolt holes in floor through the home floor safes base, then remove safe from floor marks.
3. Drill holes through floor with 5 ⁄16" drill bit. (To determine required bolt length, measure depth of drilled holes and add 1⁄4" for base plate and 1" for washer and nut.)
4. Align safe holes with floor holes.

To Install 0n Wood Floor using
toggle bolts
(Avoid floor joists with this
installation.)
Tools and Materials Needed
• pencil and ruler • electric drill with 3 ⁄ 4" wood bit screwdriver • (3) 1 ⁄4" toggle bolts • safety glasses
Instructions
1. Remove lid, door and (3) plastic plugs in safe's base.
2. Mark location of bolt holes in floor through the safe's base, then remove safe from floor marks.
3. Drill holes through floor with 3 ⁄ 4" wood drill bit. (To determine required length of toggle bolts, measure depth of drilled holes and add 1 ⁄4" for base
plate and 1" for toggle wings.)


To Install on Wood Floor using hollow wall anchors
(Avoid floor joists with this installation.)
Tools and Materials Needed
• pencil • electric drill with 7 ⁄16" bit • screwdriver • hammer • (3) 1 ⁄4" hollow wall anchors, Molly type • (3) 5 ⁄16" washers • safety glasses
Instructions
1. Remove lid, door and (3) plastic plugs in safe's base.
2. Mark location of bolt holes in floor through the sentury safes base, then remove safe from floor marks.
3. Drill holes through floor with 7 ⁄16" wood drill bit.
4. Remove bolts from anchor.
5. Use hammer to install anchors into floor holes. Different lengths of Mollyฎ bolts are required for variations in floor thicknesses. Measure depth of drilled holes and add 1 ⁄4" for thickness of safe's base plate.
6. Align safe holes with holes in floor.
7. Place screw through holes and finger tighten. Use screwdriver to fasten securely.
8. Replace home underfloor safes door and waterproof lid.

To Install 0n Wood Floor using plywood
(Used when ceiling of room below prevents access to bottom of floor and floor joists.)
Tools and Materials Needed
• pencil and ruler • electric drill • 1 ⁄ 8" wood bit for pilot holes • 3 ⁄4" wood bit for countersink holes • 5 ⁄16" bit for carriage bolt holes • wrench • 3 ⁄4" plywood base, 18" x 18" • screwdriver • (3) 1 ⁄ 4" carriage bolts (1 3 ⁄4"
long) with nuts and 5 ⁄16" washers • (12) 1 ⁄ 4" lag screws (2" long) • safety glasses
Instructions
1. Remove lid, door and (3) plastic plugs in safes base.
2. Place safe on 3 ⁄4" plywood, 18" x 18".
3. Mark location of bolt holes on plywood through safes base and remove safe from plywood marks.
4. Drill holes through plywood with 5 ⁄16" drill bit. To prevent the plywood from bowing, use a 3 ⁄4" drill bit to recess nuts into plywood.
5. Place carriage bolts through holes and fasten securely.
6. Attach plywood base to floor in desired location, using (12) 1 ⁄ 4" lag screws.
7. Replace combination security door and waterproof lid.
