NOTE: If your safe doesn't have a key, skip Step 3.
Turn the dial to zero.
Insert your sentry safe key and turn it until the plunger pops out.
Turn the dial to the left (counterclockwise) three times to the first number of the combination (pass the first number of your combination two times, stopping on it the third time).
Turn the dial to the right (clockwise) two times to the second number of the combination (pass your second number once, stopping on it the second time).
Turn the dial to the left to the last number (stop the first time on your last number).
Pull the handle down; cracking sentry safe open.

 
How to open sentry electronic safes.

Opening instructions manual for sentry fireproof electronic security safes. Insert the tubular sentry key into the lock to the left of the key pad. Turn the key all the way to the right until the plunger pops out. Press the five-digit factory code. The green Proceed light will come on. Pull the handle down; to crack the sentry door open.

Where can I find the model number for my sentry home safe?
This depends on the model Sentry Safe product you have purchased.
For our Sentry Safe Fire Safe chests, file and safe products - it is usually found on the faceplate on the front of the unit (near key, combination or electronic lock), in close proximity to the Sentry safe logo.

For Sentry safe Steal Safe models v120 v360 and v560 the model number is found on the serial number label, placed on the front of the owner's manual, or on the front-door panel.

For Sentry safe gun safe models, the model number is found on the serial number label, on the back or right side of the safe unit.


 
Using the keypad Caution! Liquids can damage the sentry safe digital keypad! Caution! Pen points or other sharp objects can puncture the keypad membrane! Only a light touch is needed. A green PROCEED light and a single beep indicate that the keypad �felt� your touch. The lock allows 5 seconds for each key press. If you pause longer, an error signal will occur (blinking red light and three beeps), indicating you should start over.
Access codes There are three possible ways to unlock and access the safe by entering its preset Factory Code, your own User Code or a Password. You can always open the safe by entering the 5-digit Factory Code. But if you prefer to use your own code, you can program the safe to open to the 5-digit User Code of your choice. If you wish to give someone else temporary access to the safe, you can program a Password that can later be erased.

Programming a user code
There are two ways to program a user code.
A 1. Press the Program key.
2. Enter the Factory Code. The green LED remains ON
while you enter the 5-digit user code of your choice.
After 5 digits are entered the green LED turns OFF.
(To enter a new User Code, repeat these steps.)
B 1. Press the red button inside the safe. The lock will
�beep� and the green LED will come on.
2. Enter a 5-digit user code.
(To enter a new User Code, repeat these steps.)

Programming a password
1. Press the Program key.
2. Press it a second time.
3. Enter your 5-digit User Code. The green LED remains ON.
4. Enter the 5-digit Password of your choice (any combination
except 00000.) After 5 digits are entered, the green LED
turns OFF.
(To enter a new Password, repeat these steps. To erase the
Password, press Program twice, enter your User Code and then
enter 00000.)

Battery replacement
Below When old batteries are removed for replacement, your Password will be voided; only Factory and User Codes will work. To
reestablish your Password, follow the directions above under
�Programming a Password� .
Key override
If your electronic lock fails or you do not have any codes
available, you may use a key override to access this unit.
1. Remove the battery cover, disconnect and remove the
battery holder.
2. Insert the skeleton key (second set of keys provided)
into the key hole inside the opening for the battery.
3. Turn the key to the right.
4. Turn the four-bitted key to the right.
5. Open the door.
Signals
Your electronic-lock safe communicates by means of several
audio/visual signals.
Red (Error) LED + three beeps indicates
one of the following:
1. You have pressed Program key out of sequence
2. You have entered an invalid code or password.
3. You have let 5 seconds or more elapse between key entries.
Green (Proceed) LED + single beep occurs
1. After entering each digit of Factory or User Code, or
Password
2. After pressing Clear key
3. After pressing Program key
Green LED only
1. Comes ON after you enter a valid code/password and
remains lit during the 4-second period in which the safe
can be opened.
2. Comes ON in the Program User Code mode after you enter
the Factory Code and remains lit until you have finished
entering a 5-digit User Code.
3. Comes ON in the Program Password mode after you have
entered your User Code and remains ON until you have
entered a 5-digit password.
Yellow LED
Indicates �low battery� and will typically not turn ON until
battery has been in use approximately two years or longer.
Your electronic lock automatically performs a low battery test
during each lock use.
If a �low battery� condition is detected the Yellow LED will
come ON and remain ON during each subsequent lock
operation. (The lock will continue to function in a Low Battery
state, until battery failure.) The Yellow LED will turn OFF only
after three consecutive �Good Battery� readings or after the low
batteries are replaced. (Note: If the new batteries are installed
in less than 60 seconds the Yellow LED may come ON and stay
ON during the first lock operation before it returns to OFF.)
NOTE: It is recommended you replace the batteries after two
years, or when the yellow LED remains on.

How to install sentury safe batteries
slide open the battery cover located just below the keypad.
Insert a paper clip or pen point into the small hole in the cover. Push in while sliding cover to the right. Disconnect and remove the battery holder. Insert the 4-batteries as indicated.
reconnect the connector and put back the battery holder. Slide the cover back in place.

How do I insert the batteries on my advanced electronic lock safe?
to install batteries, turn the electronic lock case to the right and remove.Insert four new batteries as indicated, replace the electronic lock case and turn to the left to reassemble.
