Codyfeedlot utilizes a wide range of marketing avenues. Each pen exhibits different carcass characteristics. Based on evaluation, your cattle may be marketed into grids that reward Certified Angus Beef, prime, choice, yield grade, and yield. Our premiums above cash market place us in the top twenty-five percent for premiums paid at Farmland National Beef in Dodge City, Kansas, IBP in Denison,Iowa, and Greater Omaha Pack. We are currently averaging $4 to $8 over cash on Angus cattle, many of which are marketed through U.S. Premium Beef who pays a $14 per cwt. premium for Prime carcasses, $4.50 per cwt.premium for Certified Angus Beef carcasses and a $3 per cwt. premium for Farmland Black Angus Beef carcasses. On our Charlais cross cattle we're averaging $2 to $4 per cwt. over cash. We also can obtain four local cash bids at anytime. To help out with out-of-pocket expenses, we do offer financing on all feed costs, as well as a percentage of purchase cost (Depending on weight and quality of cattle.)
