Peter Spizzirri is a graduate of the American Academy of Art and the Art Institute. In 1975 he decided to put his illustrative abilities and commitment to realism together and start a business that would introduce quality coloring books to children. "Just because it's a coloring book, it doesn't have to be mediocre art. If we give quality to look at from a young age, children will develop a finer appreciation of art. If we give them digest form text they will actually take the time to read about what they are coloring.....And....if we put these books on cassette....even the very young child can learn amazing facts and have a lot of fun while learning." So Pete, and wife Linda, set to work.....right at home...growing their business and their family side by side.
In 1986 the Spizzirris moved from the Chicago area to a ranch in the Black Hills of Rapid City, SD. Still set on saving travel time---the Spizzirris built their warehouse/office building on the ranch. The "coloring book factory in the hills" continues to publish, manufacture and ship all from one location. You get quality at an inexpensive price and you get it quickly.
