What is EAS?

Electronic Article Surveillance - A security system that creates a Radio Frequency field to protect goods leaving your store without evidence of transaction. Made up of antennas and tags.

What is an Antenna?
An antenna is the main visual component of an EAS system. The antennas work as a sensor, to set off the alarm if a live tag passes through them. Choice of antenna is based on several factors, including your aesthetic preference, your store layout, desired aisle width and tag types used.

How does it Work?
When a 'live' Chekcpoint tag enters the sensors' radio frequency detection field, it triggers an alarm that alerts you to a possible shoplifting attempt. The sensors also act as a powerful deterrent, so would-be shoplifters bypass your store.

Why use an EAS system in your store?

In most cases, Checkpoint Security Gates return their investment within twelve months. Checkpoint Security Gates can be tailored to suit any retail, video or library environment.
