This book is dedicated to the memory of my late wife, Patricia Lewine Richards, who was born in Butte, Montana, on April 27, 1943, and died of, cancer in Denver, Colorado, on July 6, 2002. Patricia was not only my wife and lover, she was my very best friend.
Pat was a person who loved life and enjoyed all the friends and many associates we had over the years, I could always tell when she was nearby because of her distinctive laugh. She found humor in everything she came into contact with.
When I was working full-time and going to school at night to obtain my Engineering degree, Pat coached a young boys' soccer team called the Bandits. Although many men took exception to a women coaching a boys' team, she soon gained recognition for her efforts, when the boys began winning game after Game.
When our three sons were in college, Pat became employed by the City of Denver. While working forty hours a week, she also attended night school at the University of Phoenix, where she obtained both her bachelor's degree and her master's in Business Administration.
Although Pat was only fifty nine years old when she died, she had Experienced more of the world than most people will ever dream of. She not only traveled to nearly every state of the union, but had also toured Forty-nine different countries, experiencing their sights, smells, and
cultures.
Although Pat and I had totally different personalities, I always felt special when she was near me. It was as if I were the moon and she was the darkness that helped me shine my brightest. I will always cherish the forty years of our companionship.
Although I miss her smile and kisses, she will live in my heart forever.
