The Art & The Artists of Debulium Arts
Our art form is unlike any other. Every product is completely handcrafted and hand-bent. Each is designed for year round use in the garden! Every chime is hand-tuned, volume adjustable to provide a lifetime of musical pleasure! Many of our chimes are actually double chimes! All of our chimes are made of durable, weatherproof, anodized aluminum; each is hand-tuned to an ancient oriental scale, chosen for it’s healing effects on the mind, body and spirit!
It all began in the basement of the family home. Deb and her husband, Bob, began making windchimes and tuned garden instruments in 1985. Deb, then a young mother of two, would create and tune her musical garden instruments while the children were at school and Bob was working as a vice president in a savings bank. Deb would sell their creations in local New England professional arts and crafts shows. Deb and Bob found the perfect way to mix their favorite hobbies and learned experiences to build their business. Deb has always loved to garden. Over the years, she has planted many gardens that were designed specifically to be used in the photographs of products seen on this website. Bob left the bank in 1994 and joined Deb. Bob's banking and business management skills contribute greatly to Debulium-Arts. To create Debulium-Arts, Deb blended her experience as a harpist, the teachings of her father, who was a carpenter, the talents of her mother in sales and sewing, and her grandfather’s love for the garden. She found a way to mix her talents with her love to travel and desire to create a business that provides income for the family. Debulium-Arts is, simply, a blend of everything the couple loves and holds most dear. Though the name "Debulium-Arts" is an original of Deb's, (Deb's Aluminum Art), she is quick to say it’s the teamwork and compassion of her employees who share the same basic family values that make it all possible.
Though her beautiful, hand-crafted designs are inspiring and bare her name, in truth, she would tell you that she never designs anything alone. Deb relies dearly upon Bob and their employees for everything that goes into making Debulium-Arts Windharps and Windchimes.
The couple continues to participate in some of the finest Professional Arts and Crafts Shows & Festivals in the country. You may see us at Sugarloaf Crafts Festivals, Virginia Carolina Craftsmen's Classics, Mayfair Festival of Arts, Westmoreland Arts and Heritage among a few to show and test limited edition and experiment with customer response to new products before they are introduced to the wholesale business customers who purchase for their stores. Deb and Bob enjoy talking with and listening to their customers. It is at the Professional Arts and Crafts Shows/Festivals where they “test” their newest “ideas” and "one-of-a-kind chimes" along with some of their "Limited Edition” creations.
Over the years, Deb and Bob have met thousands of people who knew what they wanted in a windchime. This is still, they say, their most valuable resource. It is because of customer input that Debulium Arts Windharps and Windchimes are clearly “not like the others”. "Learn about the Unique Product Features" of Our Windharps and Windchimes.
Many of the improvements and modifications in Debulium Arts product line have been initiated by the comments and suggestions made by customers over the years.
"I want a sort of quiet, but gentle chime."
"I want a deeper sound."
"I need more color."
"I don't have any place to hang a chime."
"I need a louder chime."
"Can I change the volume?"
"I don't want a lot of music, just a little tone now and again."
"I live in a town house; what kind of chime do you have for me?"
"Is there a simpler, softer sound?"
"It's too big, I need a smaller chime."
"Got anything pink?"
Many customers have asked, "will it scare my birds away?” The answer is "NO”. The birds enjoy and delight in the gentle music. If you place your Debulium Arts' Windharps or Windchimes near bird feeders the music will remind the birds the food is where the music is. "Music in the Garden".
Debulium Arts Windharps and Windchimes are found in many fine garden shops, fine and unique art & crafts stores, mail order catalogs, and in better gift stores where quality and value matter. Debulium Arts’ chimes are different from all other chimes on the market. These chimes are extremely durable, and designed to withstand brutal ocean weather, desert heat and mountain top winds.
