Shellharbour Village is quite simply the JEWEL
of Shellharbour City and in my personal opinion the entire South Coast.
It happens to be one of my
favourite places on the planet and it's why I call it my home. One of the
reasons I LOVE living here is because it feels like you are on holiday every
day : )
If
your a visitor ... and wondering what to do with yourself while your visiting
our friendly village here's my suggested intinery for a
SENSATIONAL DAY IN
SHELLHARBOUR VILLAGE
6.30 am : Come on lazy bones ....
It's a beautiful day and the sun makes it look like there is diamonds dancing
on the water. The pool looks inviting ... but maybe a little cold this time of
morning ... Perhaps after lunch .... But you gotta go for a walk along the
walkway along by the pool and harbour. Say Good Morning along the way and stop
to pat a dog or two as you make your way up Addison Street and take on the
FIRST big decision of the day ...... What to have for breakfast ....
7.00 am : You decided on
one of the many al fresco cafes found up and down Addison Street, sit down and
take in the view as the waitress brings your menu. Watch the pelicans play and
some late starter fishing boats take off for a day of fishing. The smell of
coffee and bacon fills the air. The newspaper is there ... but who really
cares what is going on in the world. Here's where it's at !
8.30 am : Breakfast was
YUM ... but maybe that banana smoothie afterwards was pushing it. Perhaps a
walk up and down the village ... a little slower this time .... as the belly
is full : ) and take in some window shopping (most of the "shopping" shops
open at 10am, but window shopping is fun ... and there's plenty of time in the
afternoon to come back and spend discovering all the goodies on the other side
of the window. The Newsagent is always open early .... so you might like to
pop in and try your luck with a scratchie.
10.00 am : Time to head
back to the water, probaley warm enough for a swim now. Choose from the salt
water swimming pool, patrolled beaches Shellharbour North or Shellharbour
South or head up to Bass Point and check out Bushrangers Bay ... or discover
your own little waterhole and name it whatever you like : ) The
Buy Organic Shop is at 10.00
so call in and pick up some Natural Sun Protection, lip balm and insect
repellant and drop into the bookshop for some sunbaking reading.
12.00 pm : SHOP TILL YOU
DROP ... well at least till it's time to EAT again and time to discover the
range of boutiques, gift shops, and specialty shops the village has to offer.
Pick up a fabulous outfit to wear to out to dinner tonight ... and new shoes
.. and earings ... and handbag : ) Perhaps call into one of the dive shops and
book in to do that SCUBA DIVING course you've always been meaning to do. And
for the men .... take off fishing ..or surfing .... or head down to the pub
and wait for the ladies on the deck enjoying a cold one.
1.30 pm : LUNCH .....
ooohhh more decisions .... Cafe, Restaurant, Takeaway , Picnic by The Harbour
.....
3.00 pm : How about
checking out the Wellness Centre
in Mary Street (part of the BUY ORGANIC SHOP) an enjoy a Aromatherapy Massage,
Reflexology session, Reiki , Remedial Massage or Angel Card Reading. The
Village offers many other holistic and natural healing therapies including
Chriopracter, Natropath, Herbalist, Journey Therapy, Dietitian, Ka Huna
Massage, Yoga, Bowen, and Chinese Massage.
5.00 pm : Call into the Roo
Theatre and pick up a ticket to tomorrow's night show ..and make dinner
reservations across the road, Call into the DVD shop and pick up a comedy for
some late night laughs tonights.
7.00 pm : Fire up the
barbie and cook up the BEST MEAT in the Illawarra. Of course you picked it up
earlier today from the butchers in the village : )
8.30 pm: Walk off dinner .....
stroll down to the bottle shop and pick up another 6 pack and bottle of wine.
9.00 pm: Settle in for the
night ... and put the DVD and enjoy a few laughs : )
