The english@work® New Zealand internship programme is specifically designed for working holiday students who wish to dramatically increase their proficiency in the English language and gain work experience in New Zealand. You will study communication English and receive assistance with different facets of the working holiday job recruitment process, including New Zealand-style, cv preparation, interview skills and work placement advice. You will receive on-going support for the duration of the course.
 

The programme begins with an intensive English language course at the Auckland English Academy. During this time, you will study Communication English together with study abroad students from around the world. You will also take part in several workshops about working in New Zealand. The workshops cover topics including how to prepare a New Zealand-style cv; how to make use of local recruitment agencies and useful website links; assistance with arranging telephone and in-person job interviews and tips on good interview skills. One of our Auckland English staff members will accompany you to a job interview if requested, and act as a reference. During the remaining weeks of the programme, you will continue to pursue your English language studies along with interview and work opportunities. At the end of the 4, 8 or 12-week study period, you will receive a certificate of completion.
*Please note that the Auckland English Academy provides assistance with job placements, but is unable to guarantee work. Students need to fulfill immigration, visa, interview and qualification requirements. Students are not permitted to work in New Zealand if they are holders of a student visa for a language school course.
