Using the industry standard IEEE-1394 PC interface allows you to connect the digital camcorder to a compatible computer for advanced editing. You can also produce duplicate copies of your recordings without any loss in picture quality, with similarly equipped camcorders or VCRs.
Soft Skin Mode
This feature detects skin tones and softens the focus in that area of the picture. It makes blemishes and lines appear less noticeable, while preserving the sharpness of other areas in the picture.
5 Mode Program AE (Auto Exposure)
You can prepare your camcorder for almost any recording condition by using the following automatic exposure settings:
Sports Mode - Ideal for sporting events and other fast paced action.
Portrait Mode - Focuses on the main subject of the image and leaves the background slightly out of focus by changing the depth of field.
Low Light - Preserves the mode of dim light settings without altering picture brightness.
Spot Light - Neutralizes the additional brightness created by a spotlight.
Surf & Snow - Compensates for excessive illumination from sun glare to produce a clear picture.
MagicPix Images
This feature is a great way to record still images, even in low-light settings. Now you can capture still images in full color onto the camcorders mini DV tape.
Progressive PhotoShot Mode
This feature helps to eliminate fuzziness by capturing the image data to SD Card of a singular moment and then temporarily storing the event in two separate field memories. The two images of the exact same moment are then combined, with no time lag, producing images that are better quality than standard recorded stills.
Cinema Mode
Enables you to record video in wide screen mode, giving you a 16:9 aspect ratio - the same as a movie screen. When played back on a television, the result is dramatic looking cinema-like movies at home.
Zoom Mic
As you zoom in on the picture, the audio will also zoom in so that you can pinpoint distant sound emanating from your subject.
Picture-in-Picture
Allows you to insert a previously taken digital still image into the video you're recording. The still image is taken using the PhotoShot feature and appears on the right side of the video you are recording. The video and miniaturized still shot then appear together during playback.
