Action Planning

You do it all the time. Let me illustrate. On the way to the office you have a number of errands to run. You stop for gas and drop in at the dry cleaner to pick up some clothes you need for the evening. When you come out you notice your "Service Engine" light comes on and you think you must get the car in. But that doesn't seem as urgent as some other things. You pick up your cell phone and arrange for a baby sitter for the evening. Then you call your secretary to see if she can move your 4:00 pm appointment to 3:00 pm because you have to pick up the babysitter on your way home.

Notice how many projects you have on the go.

  • Car Maintenance
  • Domestic Chores
  • Social Calendar
  • Work Schedule

What do you do all the time? You manage Projects and Action Items. But generally you just do it in your head. That is fine for the party tonight but not good enough when you are starting a church. There are too many things to remember and too many people to get involved. This is about managing something bigger than your tasks on your way to the office. And you have to get it right!

With The ToolBox you can manage hundreds of Action Items and Projects. You can organize your work load and help the others around you to organize theirs. You know that in church planting you will be relying almost totally on volunteers. Some of those volunteers will be from the ranks of those who have no church experience. You need to manage them well. When everyone is using the same system it levels the playing field.

You will end up with more than a dozen overlapping Projects. You dare not leave out important details nor wait until the last minute to try to solve things. That is a laminated permit for conflict!

The integrated Action Item reports allow you to print out your own responsibilities for the day, week or date range. YOu can print the Action Items for others. You can print the Action Items marked Complete or Incomplete. You can print the Action Items from one Project or multiple Projects that all have something to be completed. You might even have an Action Item showing up because you set it months in advance. The ToolBox can serve as your "tickle file" to remind you of something you had totally forgotten about.

The possibilites are endless.
